Signal Hill Trail
From Cameron Bluff Campground, follow the well-marked Signal Hill Trail through hardwood forest to Signal Hill, the highest point in Arkansas. The highpoint is marked by a large stone map of Arkansas. The trail continues beyond the highpoint toward the Lodge at Mount Magazine.

Arkansas State Parks currently lists the trail as 1.5 miles online, while the 2026 park brochure lists 1.4 miles. The brochure states that the trail climbs 153 feet from Cameron Bluff Campground.

The standard highpoint approach begins at the Signal Hill Trailhead near Cameron Bluff Campground inside Mount Magazine State Park. The park is reached by Arkansas Highway 309.
Use the Signal Hill trailhead parking near Cameron Bluff Campground.
The official trailhead is at 35.170317, -93.644783. Follow park signs for Cameron Bluff Campground and Signal Hill Trail and use designated parking.

Protect Mount Magazine
Stay on marked trails to protect sensitive plants and avoid creating confusing side paths.
Do not pick plants, disturb wildlife, throw rocks, or leave litter.
Use caution around wet or loose rocks and near exposed bluffs.
Do not feed black bears and give wildlife space.
Carry water and appropriate footwear even though the highpoint hike is short.
